Childcare
Wellness/Illness Policy
The health and well being of your
child is my number one concern but the reality is, children do become
ill. It is important to take preventative measures such as:
hand
washing
nutritious
food
proper
diaper handling techniques
proper
personal grooming habits
keeping
the environment clean
As
the parent, you too can assist in making sure that your child is safe
by informing me if your child has any allergies or any other medical
condition.
If
your child has become ill, I require 24 hours notice from the time of
diagnosis. The following would be some symptoms of illness that would
exclude your child from attending childcare in my home:
nausea
diarrhea
vomiting
difficulty
breathing
fever
of 38.3 degrees Celsius or more
sore
throat or difficulty swallowing
infected
skin or eyes or an undiagnosed rash
severe
itching of body or scalp
Pink eye
any
known or suspected communicable disease
If
you as the parent are not able to pick your child up, alternate
arrangements must be available. While your child is waiting to be
picked up, I understand that it is my responsibility to make sure
he/she is comfortable and away from the other children.
Before
your child may return to childcare in my home, he or she must be free
of all symptoms a min of 24 hrs.
A note from your family practitioner may be
required.
*If I fall ill i will provide as much notice as possible so that you can make alternative arrangement for care if needed. I will provide assistance with this if I am able.
